This is Nodis

Founded in 2014, Nodis partners with leading flat glass manufacturers to transform the way comfortable, energy-efficient spaces are created. As the importance of sustainability grows and governments around the world set higher standards for energy use and CO2 emissions, Nodis anticipates even greater adoption of smart glass technology.

Leadership

The Nodis team has created nanoparticle-based display and smart glass technology for more than 10 years.

History

Nodis was founded in 2014 to commercialize the nanoparticle-based smart glass and display technology developed by Dr. Sergey Shokhor and his team.

The company successfully brought its TruTint smart glass technology to market, attracting investment from the Singapore National Research Foundation and Get2Volume. Nodis has won three international competitions for the unique TruTint technology: Innovate4Climate World Bank Summit, Korea Startup Grant Challenge, and Shell Idea Refinery.

As Nodis sets the standard for smart glass that dramatically reduces energy costs and CO2 emissions, the company is also exploring diverse product applications such as display and camouflage glass. In May 2020, Nodis was selected as a Supplier of Interest by the U.S. Department of Defense to explore the potential of camouflage glass on the battlefield.

The company’s operations encompass six key processes:

  • Researching advanced materials for smart glass

  • Prototyping smart glass films using a unique processed nanoparticle approach

  • Micro-imprinting films to encapsulate the nanoparticles

  • Scaling production of TruTint smart glass film

  • Designing and manufacturing control units

  • Selling to glass manufacturers

Nodis has operations in Columbus, Ohio, as well as in Russia, Singapore, and South Korea.
